Water Crisis in Cape Town Hits Poor People Hardest

A state monthly disability allowance will afford an indigent person 160 bottles of water per month – if that person buys nothing else with the tiny pension of US$133! No food, no rent….no groceries.

Poor people cannot go hydrated because there are little or no public drinking fountains, etc. Restaurants, even McDonalds, refuse to serve a glass of water to needy people.

Cape Town is in bad shape. People collect donated water for pets but then neglect humans who also may need it urgently.

We need to see change so that poor people can quench their thirst.

  1. This is awful.. I don’t see the government willing to help.. My friend is a missionary near Gbesseh.. she is in her 80’s! She and her team have dug some wells to help with clean water.. I pray for rain..
